The University and all members of the University community share responsibility
for ensuring that the work and study environment at the University of Manitoba
is free from discrimination and harassment. Administrative Heads of Units
bear the primary responsibility for maintaining a study and work environment
free from discrimination and harassment.
If a complaint is brought to an administrative officer or manager, a student
advocacy representative, Equity Services Advisor, or a Human Resources representative
should be contacted, to receive advice and assistance with respect to the
handling of the complaint. The complainant will be advised that assistance
is being sought from that office. These offices will treat the matter with
confidentiality (except as is required to investigate or take corrective action
with respect to the complaint).
Formal complaints of harassment and discrimination under the Respectful Work
and Learning Environment (RWLE) policy of the University of Manitoba can be
investigated only by the Investigation Officer as referenced under the RWLE
policy.
